My path to becoming a counsellor began with my own journey of self-exploration and healing, guided by a deep and enduring curiosity about personal growth, human behaviour, and the ways we connect with one another.
I found myself drawn to a blend of narrative therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy. Narrative therapy offers a space where stories, metaphors, and meaning intertwine, inviting us to explore the ways we make sense of our experiences. Cognitive behavioural therapy, in turn, provides a grounded framework for understanding how our thoughts and feelings shape patterns and belief systems in our lives. I am also influenced by gestalt principles which inspire us to stay present and responsive, creating space for genuine therapeutic connection, awareness and self discovery and exploring what feels most alive and meaningful in the moment. Through these approaches, I discovered a profound sense of acceptance and understanding within myself, which continues to shape the heart of my practice today.
I have completed a master of counselling and presently pursuing further training in narrative therapy whilst working in private practice with children, adolescents and adults.
How I Work
My approach is grounded in relational practice, which recognises that healing unfolds within the context of our relationships. In this space, each person’s unique story is honoured and held with care. Together, we explore how past relational patterns may continue to shape present experiences, creating opportunities for awareness, growth, and change within the here-and-now connection between client and counsellor. I work with clients in a holistic and present-focused way, gently supporting awareness and self-understanding through curiosity and reflection.
I believe that conscious awareness is an essential part of compassionately exploring the beliefs we hold about ourselves, and how these shape the way we move through life’s challenges. In our sessions, we take things at a pace that feels comfortable and right for you, creating space for insight and growth.
